Mrs Michelle Moan – SENDCO

My name is Mrs Michelle Moan, I am the SENDCO at St. John’s so I help lots of children across the school.  I currently work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and spend time teaching in Nursery and Reception class.  I am also part of the Safeguarding team and Looked After lead.

I am always happy to talk to parents who have any concerns about their children and look for ways to help.  You can contact me on the school phone number, in school in person or send me an email.  My email address is m.moan200@st-johnscofe.durham.sch.uk

When I am not at school, I spend my time with my husband and twin boys.  They have just started school.  They are very active, so I am always busy!

Mrs Wendy Clark – SENDCO Assistant

Hi! my name is Mrs Clark and I am SENDCO Assistant at St. John’s where I have been working for thirty years. My job is so rewarding, it is a pleasure to work with such wonderful children and their families. During my time I have worked closely with the Head Teacher and SENDCO as part of the Safeguarding Team to ensure the welfare of all children, providing social and pastoral support to both children and their families. Primarily my role is to identify, assess and support pupils with a range of SEN needs and currently I work in Year 1 covering PPA time. I also assess children across the whole school who have particular Speech, Language and Communication needs to ensure they receive direct support.  Working in partnership with relevant professionals and outside agencies is paramount to support the children.

Back at home I am married with three children aged 21, 14 and 11. I enjoy walking my dog Layla, going on bike rides with my family and visiting a lovely beach. Watching my son play football and my daughter dance also brings me a great deal of joy and happiness.
