Digital Durham

Digital Durham have partnered with DurhamLearn and The Bread and Butter Thing to set up a project that will see up to 600 County Durham (age 19+) residents become digital included thanks to government’s UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF).

Many residents are unable to afford a broadband connection or device due to cost-of-living pressures or lack confidence and simply don’t know where to start.

We’re offering the opportunity for residents to attend a short face-to-face digital skills course which takes place over four 1.5 hour sessions – all completely free of charge. The course aims to help increase someone’s confidence to do things online. They’ll learn how to use a tablet, how to access online services (including council, banking and NHS) and most importantly how to do it all safely.

Anyone successfully completing the free digital skills course will be gifted the tablet device they have learned on, as well as a protective case with built-in keyboard, and a data loaded SIM card (donated by Good Things Foundation) that will provide broadband access.  Courses start from 16 June 2025.

Places are limited and subject to eligibility.

We would be grateful if schools could promote this opportunity to parents or anyone (age 19+) you think could benefit. Anyone interested should:

register their interest through this link or contact DurhamLearn on 03000 266 115
